The American Concrete Institute (ACI) recently honored Ceco Director of Quality Control Frank Salzano, PE, with the ACI Construction Award.

Salzano and co-authors James Klinger, Tim Manherz and Bruce Suprenant received the award for their paper, “Constructability of Embedded Steel Plates in Cast-in-Place Concrete,” which was published in Concrete International’s September 2018 issue (pages 28-34). The article presents recommendations for best practices for design, fabrication, coordination and construction of embedded steel plates in cast-in-place concrete.

Klinger is a technical representative for the Conco Companies, based in the San Francisco area. Manherz is the senior vice president of operations at TAS Commercial Concrete Construction, headquartered in Houston. Suprenant is the technical director at the American Society of Concrete Contractors.
