This extensive study on concrete thermal mass was conducted to verify the energy savings inherent in a concrete frame as compared with a steel frame. Please note that sealants, coatings and architectural juxtaposition may affect the active thermal mass of any concrete frame and should be considered early in preconstruction. To get the most energy savings out of your concrete thermal mass, please consult your architect, mechanical engineer, structural engineer and Ceco early in the design process.
